Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, January 16, 1960 Plattsburgh Press-Republican - Plattsburgh, New York - Retired Postal Clerk Dies at 86 - Miss Mary Caroline Trumbull, a retired postal clerk of the Plattsburgh office, died Friday at her home at 42 Oak Street, at the age of 86. Miss Trumbull, a native of Pulaski, New York, was born September 20, 1873. When she was a young girl her family moved to Plattsburgh. She graduated from Plattsburgh Normal School and afterward taught school at Saranac Lake. Leaving the teaching field, she entered the employ of the post office around the turn of the century and was a clerk-bookkeeper until she retired in 1938. Miss Trumbull was a member of the First Methodist Church. She was active with the Cumberland Day Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and was a charter member of Loyal Court, Order of the Amararth. Her nearest next of kin is a cousin, Dr. Lawrence T. Trumbull of Auburn. The body is at the R. J. Blixt Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2. The body will be placed in the vault in Riverside Cemetery to await burial this spring at Pulaski.
