- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 11, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orville A. Forbes - Orville A. Forbes was born in Henderson, Jefferson County, February 21, 1822, was earnest for an education and received a good education in the schools of the town of Sandy Creek. March 16, 1842, he was married to Fannie L. Clark. He came to our town when a young man and was a teacher in our village school, and many of the residents of this village were students under him. He was the esteemed commissioner of our third commissioner district and in that position brought honor and dignity to the office. In 1870 he moved to Toledo, Ohio, and engaged in the insurance business holding to that calling to the time of his death. He is survived by a widow and one daughter, Mrs. W. E. Salisbury. His death occurred October 2. and his remains were brought to this village on Wednesday of last week for burial. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Salisbury accompanied the remains here. Mr. Forbes was an uncle of Mr. T. S. Meacham and Miss Mary Meacham, of this village, also of Mrs. Ashabel Soule, of Sandy Creek.
