George H. Klock, 59, of 287 Kearney Road, died Tuesday morning at Edward John Noble Hospital. He had a history of heart problems.
Mr. Klock was employed by St. Joe Minerals Corp., Balmat, and drove dump trucks for several companies. He also operated a dairy farm for 34 years.
Born June 5, 1939, in Antwerp, son of Basil O. and Emily Kellogg Klock, he attended Gouverneur High School and served in the Army National Guard.
He married Vina "Rose" Miller on July 28, 1958, in Syracuse.
Mr. Klock was a member of the Oxbow Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion. He was also a Little League baseball coach and a square dance caller.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Basil, Gouverneur, Zane, Antwerp, and Orson, Liverpool; five daughters, Zelphia Cardinell, Peggy Van Allen, Zina Pitcher, Tanya Uribe and Zoann Klock, all of Gouverneur; a brother, Wendall Davenport, Canton; three sisters, Florence Klock, Dry Hill, and Jane Loomis and Dawn St. Germain, both of Philadelphia, and 17 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Green Funeral Home here with the Rev. Alan D. Kinney, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oxbow Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
