- OLIVE S. ROOD, FORMER TEACHER, DIES AT 94

Olive S. Rood, 94, a native of Antwerp, died Friday at Hill Haven Nursing Home, Syracuse, where she had been a resident since 1986.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Amboy Center United Methodist Church. Spring burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Sanborn-McDaniels & LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main St., Camden. Contributions may be made to Amboy Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving are five sons, Robert, Scriba, Alva, Jewell, George, Fulton, Richard, Anchorage, Alaska, and Willard, Amboy, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Born Jan. 25, 1902, in Antwerp, daughter of Alva and Stella Swen Klock, she lived in the Williamstown and Amboy areas most of her life. She was a 1921 graduate of Pulaski Academy and a 1922 graduate of Sandy Creek Teachers Training School.
She taught school in Pulaski, Altmar and Williamstown for about 15 years.
Her husband, Lloyd L., died Sept. 2, 1975.
Mrs. Rood was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Pulaski, and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.
