Frances O. Wart, age 87, of 60 Park Street, Pulaski, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. She was born in Pulaski on June 15, 1916, the daughter of Orimell and Anna Coburn Olmstead. She was a longtime resident of Pulaski, graduating from Pulaski Academy School in 1934, and was a member of the championship basketball team in 1934. She also attended Smith College for office training. She worked at the Rochester Ordinance-War Dept., Rochester, NY, from 1940-44 as office manager. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46 in Washington, D.C. where she served as administrative assistant for the Army-Navy Petroleum Board. She also served in the Security Dept. of Los Alamos, NM, before separating from the service in May 1946. She also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was honorably discharged October 15, 1954. She married Robert E. Wart on June 3, 1950. She was employed by R.E. Wart Insurance Agency from 1953 to 1978 and previously employed by Ontario Iron Works in Pulaski from 1946-50. She was an active member of the Pulaski Tuesday Study Club, the Pulaski Historical Society, a member of the Park United Methodist Church, and the Salmon River Fine Arts Center. Surviving are her husband Robert E. Wart; a daughter Anne F. Wart of Pulaski; a son Robert J. Wart and his wife Martha H. Wart of Barrington, RI; a daughter Joan W. Olmstead and her husband Timothy P. Whitehouse of Montreal, Quebec; three granddaughters and two grandsons. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with Rev. Marilyn Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Pulaski Historical Society, Maple Avenue, Pulaski, 13142.
