Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 15, 1939 Ogdensburg Journal - Ogdensburg, New York - Mrs. Adams Passes Away At Hospital - Mrs. Anna Shepard Adams, 32, wife of Prof. Elwyn C. Adams, George Hall Trade School director, passed away about 12.45 today at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital where she had been a patient since October 31. Mrs. Adams underwent an operation last August and had never hilly recovered. Word of her death caused deep regret among a wide circle of friends in this city by whom Mrs. Adams was held in high esteem. A resident of this city for the past 10 years, Mrs. Adams came to Ogdensburg to reside from Hagerstown, Maryland, when her husband transferred to the local public school system as instructor. Mrs. Adams was a native of Pulaski. She was graduated from Pulaski High School. Her marriage to Mr. Adams took place there about 12 years ago. Surviving besides her husband arc two sons, Donald, 10, and Richard, 6; two brothers, Harold of New York City and Dewitt Shepard, an instructor in the George Hall Trade School. Two sisters, Mrs. Ross Esty of Belleville and Mrs. J. W. Cobb of Woodville, also survive. Mrs. Adams was a member of St. John's Church and was actively identified with the Rainbow Club. Last year she took a deep interest in the work of the clubs organization, for boys of pre-Boy Scout age. Mrs. Adams at all times was interested in school events and assisted in faculty affairs held here. Deepest sympathy is extended to the family in their bereavement. Funeral rites, in charge of the Nichols Funeral Service, will be held Friday at 10 am. from the Adams home, 1033 State Street, the Rev. Charles E. Kennedy, rector of St. John's Church officiating. The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. Owen McNett, Delano Street, Pulaski, where services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3:30 by the Rev. Dunn, pastor of St. James Church of Pulaski. Burial will be at Pulaski.
