Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 21, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died in this village July 7th, 1887, Mary Jane, wife of Sylvanus Wolcott, aged 47 years. Mary Jane Brundage was born May 6th, 1840, in the town of Lyme, Jefferson County, New York. In 1844 she moved with her parents to the town of Richland, near Port Ontario. On January 1st, 1865, she was married to Sylvanus Wolcott. Nearly one year ago she began to feel the touches of the disease which has proved fatal. For five months she was confined to her bed, where dear friends and kind neighbors saw her fade and waste away with the ravages of complicated diseases, until on the morning of July 7th, 1887, the light of life went out to shine no more on earth and her spirit returned to Him who gave it. The funeral services were held at her late residence on Saturday, at which many sorrowing friends gathered to pay their regard to the departed. With comfort they listened to the words of Rev. D. D. Owen, as he talked of the resurrection morn and the life eternal. She leaves on earth to mourn their loss and cherish her memory, an aged mother, sisters, brother, husband, daughter and son. Many will also remember her kindness of heart and deeds of love.
