Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 5, 1885 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died near Richland Station, New York January 23, 1885, James Valentine, age 85 years. Mr. Valentine was born in Fishkill, New York and lived until 30 years of age at Poughkeepsie, removing to and living in this town the past 25 years. Endeared not only to his own family by the same devotion whereby his memory is held in undying remembrance, but to friends made such by traits which draw all men in fellowship, and acquaintances who had known him as one whom to meet was to wish to meet again. In early life he professed the love and faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, uniting with the M. E. Church. By the purity of a long and exemplary life and his faith on the Rock of Ages in his last years of suffering, it may be said of him: He died the death of the Righteous and the last end was like unto His.
