Notes - Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 5, 1945 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. Frances Weed Dies After Long Illness - Mrs. Frances Ann Weed, 79, widow of Charles E. Weed, died Monday, September 3, 1945 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lora Lindsey, West Sandy Creek. Born in the town of Ellisburg February 2, 1896, a daughter of Henry and Myra Boomer Clark, Mrs. Weed lived in Ellisburg and Sandy Creek all her life. She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist church and its Philathea class and of Sandy Creek Grange. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Matthews of Sandy Creek and Mrs. Thomas Fry of Watertown, two sons, Glen Weed of Richland and Gleason Weed of Sandy Creek; two brothers, Leonard Clark of Ellisburg and D. H. Clark of Binghampton; one sister, Mrs. Janet Woodard of Camden; 16 grandchilden; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Weston & Woodard funeral home, Sandy Creek, by Rev. David Owen, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek.
