      June 5, 2009

      Howard E. Zufelt, 84, of Camillus, passed away Friday at Community General Hospital. Born in Tully, he lived in Pulaski for 30 years before moving to Camillus 50 years ago.

      Howard was a Navy veteran of WW II.

      He owned his own electrical, heating and plumbing business. He also served on the NY Board of Fire Underwriters as an electrical inspector and was formerly employed for 20 years with the NYS Thruway Authority, retiring in 1986. Howard enjoyed woodworking, fishing, outdoors and gardening. He was predeceased by his sister, Lois Stubb, and brother, Lester Zufelt.

      Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Alice Johnson; son, Frederick (Carol) of Chittenango; daughter, Patti (Paul) Webb of Camillus; grandchildren, Patrick Zufelt, Christine (Ryan) Fick, Kimberly (Vincent) Nolan, Kelly Webb and Kathi Webb; and great-grandson, Trevor Nolan.

      A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
