William Stanley Brown, 80, of 375 Roslyn Drive, Lumberton, N.C., formerly of Pulaski, died March 2 at his home.
Born May 23, 1921, in Pulaski, he was a son of W. Stanley and Eva Ingersoll Brown.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked in the family hardware business in Pulaski for several years. He graduated from Oswego State Teachers College and taught at Pulaski and Central Square high schools before moving to North Carolina in 1970. Mr. Brown was an instructor of math and science at Robeson Community College, Lumberton, until he retired in 1986.
Mr. Brown and his wife spent summers at their camp at Eagle Crag Lake in the Adirondacks. He was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lumberton.
Surviving are his wife, Mary T.; a daughter, Maureen E. Rinde, Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Robert C., Fayson Lakes, N.J., and James C., Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Virginia Smith, Sandy Creek, Katherine Brown, Phoenix, Ariz., and Evelyn Davis, Camp Verde, Ariz.; two granddaughters, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were with Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Lumberton. A graveside service will be held in Pulaski at a later date.
