      Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant William (Bill) Gregory, of Havelock, N.C., passed away November 16 2008 at the age of 66. He will be missed dearly by his family and a host of friends and acquaintances.

      Bill was born October 25 1942, in Watertown, N.Y., son of the late Ned Franklin Gregory and Francis May Granger Hazelwood. He graduated from Pulaski Academy Central School in 1960. Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. of 26 years and a manager of the Havelock Building Supply in Havelock, N.C.

      He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Margaret (Gressler) Gregory. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Geri and Jack Vital of Huntington, W.V. and Angela and John Strong of Havelock, N.C. and; four grandchildren, Chris Vital, and Elizabeth, Amanda and Dillon Strong; a brother Ed Gregory and his wife Starr of Kannapolis, N.C.; a sister Vicki Gregory and her husband John of Watertown, N.Y. Two step brothers Larry Norton and his wife Chris of Syracuse, N.Y. and Bob Norton and his wife Suzzie of Sandy Creek, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

      There will be a burial service at the Pulaski Cemetery, in Pulaski, N.Y. on August 1, 2009 at 10:00 am with Military Honors.
