Gertrude Ford, 71, of 43 Pulaski St., died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Ford retired in 1981 after 31 years as a secretary with the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District.
Born Nov. 13, 1926, in Williamstown, daughter of Rose Kiddney and William W. Wheeler, she had lived in Altmar for 60 years.
She married Bert E. Ford on April 11, 1951. He died Sept. 8, 1994.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and past president of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was past president of the auxiliary of American Legion Russell Tyron Post 1435 and president of Ma Barker's Cribbage Club, Pulaski.
She is survived by five sons, F. Edward, Polk City, Fla., Michael J. and Patrick J., both of Altmar, William B, Pulaski, and Paul, Williamstown; a daughter, Sally Hill, Pulaski; a brother, Leon R., Williamstown; two sisters, Rosemary S. Johnson and Norma M. Walker, both of Altmar; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pulaski. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Altmar, past president of its Altar and Rosary Society, past president of the auxiliary of the American Legion's Russell Tryon Post 1435, Altmar, and president of Ma Barker's Cribbage Club, Pulaski.
Her husband, Burt, died in 1994.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pulaski. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar.
