Edwin G. ``Ed'' Hilton, 67, of Cemetery Road, town of Oswego, died Monday at his home after a long illness.
A native of Williamstown, Mr. Hilton moved to the town of Oswego in 1929. He operated his own excavating business for 35 years.
Mr. Hilton attended St. Mary's Church and was a member of Local 545 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Tesoriero; two sons, David and Richard, both of Oswego; his father, Paul Hilton of North Rose; three brothers, Lester and Robert, both of Oswego, and Dorwin of Cato; two sisters, Iva Goodfellow of Fulton and Pauline Cummins of Oswego; five grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
