      Funeral services for Beatrice M. Moore, 76, 8310 County Route 27, Lisbon were held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg with Chaplain Ernest Ross of Chaumont, NY, nephew of the deceased, officiating.
      Calling hours were held on Saturday from Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
      Mrs. Moore died at her home on Tuesday morning, May 11th and had been in failing health. She suffered a stroke in 2007.
      Surviving are; 2 daughters, Mrs. Pete (Rosemarie) Smith, Houston, TX, Mrs. Reginald (Michelle Moore) Burr, Lisbon; 1 step-son, Michael A. Moore and his wife, Sherrill of Lisbon; 4 grandchildren, Ralph Belfy III, Houston, TX, Brian Moore, Kellie Moore, and Mrs. Michael (Melissa) Burke, all of Lisbon. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Predeceasing her were a brother, Ronald Dake and a sister, Elizabeth Ross.
      She was born on Aug. 30, 1935 in Morristown, the daughter of Murray and Mildred Peters Dake. She attended Lisbon rural schools, and contracted polio at the age of 13. She then attended a polio rehabilitation school in Syracuse and later graduated from the Syracuse Business School. She became a telephone operator for the New York Telephone Company in Syracuse for a time before returning to Lisbon. She married Merton J. Moore in 1958 and they resided on the Dezell and Baker Roads. He died in October 2000. She moved to her present home in 2007 to be near her daughter, Michelle.
      She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors especially George & Marlene Gladle, playing scrabble and talking to the people that cared for her on a daily basis. She will be sadly missed by all especially her cat Heuy.
