Linda A. Ackley, 54, of 115 Herbert St., North Syracuse, formerly of Pulaski, died of cancer Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
Mrs. Ackley was a medical clerk at Orthopaedic Specialists LLC, Syracuse, and formerly was part owner of the Montgomery Ward store in Pulaski.
Born March 26, 1948, in Oswego, daughter of Henry and Charlotte Allen Vrooman, she graduated from Mexico Academy and Central School.
Marriages, including one to Cecil Kevin Byrne, ended in divorce. Surviving besides her parents, of Mexico, are a son, Shawn M. Byrne, Amsterdam; a sister, Nancy Vrooman Johnson, Pulaski; three brothers, Roger and David Vrooman, both of Mexico, and Roy Vrooman, Rhode Island; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Taylor-Vida Funeral Home with the Rev. Kit Swartz, pastor of the Reformed Church of Oswego, officiating. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Syracuse.

Linda A. Vrooman Ackley, 54, of 115 Herbert St., North Syracuse, died Thursday. Born in Oswego, she lived in Pulaski many years before moving to North Syracuse in 1996. She was a medical clerk at Orthopedic Specialists LLC in Syracuse and had been part owner of Montgomery Ward in Pulaski.
Survivors: A son, Shawn Byrne of Amsterdam; her parents, Henry and Charlotte Allen Vrooman of Mexico; a sister, Nancy Vrooman Johnson of Pulaski; three brothers, Roger and David Vrooman, both of Mexico, and Roy Vrooman of Rhode Island; two grandchildren. Services: 8 p.m. Monday at Taylor-Vida Funeral Home. Spring burial, South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 4927 N. Jefferson St., Pulaski.
