    • LACONA - Mrs. Edith Shafty Neimier, 77, widow of Harvey E. Nemier, of Lacona died at 3:30 this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Nellie) Whiting, Maple Ave., this village, after a day's illness. She had resided here since 1947.
      Born on Dec. 9, 1881, in Boylston, she was a daughter of George and Elizabeth Reed Shafty and spent her early life in that township and Great Bend. Her marriage to Mr. Nemier of Lacona took place March 24, 1908, in Carthage. He died June 8, 1946. She was a member of Sandy Creek grange.
      Surviving besides her daughter is another daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Gertrude) Stevens, Camden, a brother, Nicholas Shafty, Deer River; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hastings, Carthage; two grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

      SERVICES SATURDAY
      LACONA - Funeral services for Mrs. Edith S. Nemier, 77, a resident here for the past 12 years, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Weston & Woodard funeral home at Sandy Creek, the Rev Kendall K Scouten, pastor of Sandy Creek Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Wesleyan cemetery in Boylston. Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

      Mrs. Nemier died Wednesday morning at the home of
      her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Whiting, Maple Ave., after a day's illness.
