    • Cornelius W. Durgee, 76, died at the Crouse Irving hospital, Syracuse, late Tuesday evening, following two years of failing health. He had been admitted to the hospital last Saturday, but failed to respond to medical treatment.

      Funeral services will be held from the late home on the Syracuse road, Friday morning at 9 a.m, and from St. John's Catholic Church at 9:30. Rev. Edward P. Keflefic will officiate. Burial will be made in Pulaski cemetery.

      Mr. Durgee is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marandia Baker Durgee; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Miller and Mrs. Eva Busek, both of Rome, Mrs. Dorothy Favriet, Pulaski; two sons, Harry Durgee, Pierrepont Manor, and Cornelius Durgee, Pulaski; one nephew, Harold Durgee, Ilion, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

      He was born at Pine Meadows, April 10, 1872, the son of Lewis and Amelia Smith Durgee. On Jan. 13, 1896, he was married to Miss Marandia Baker at Harrisville Catholic church by Rev. J.C. Manning. Following his marriage, he was engaged in the lumber business, but had been a farmer most of his life. He came to Pulaski 35 years ago and some seven years later he purchased the farm which was his late home. Mr. Durgee was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist church in Pulaski.
