      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 4, 2007 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Henry W. Vrooman, 85, Lee Road, died Tuesday at his home. Mr. Vrooman worked for the state Department of Transportation for 33 years, retiring in 1983. Born September 18, 1922, in the town of Watertown, son of Emery and Clara VanOrnum Vrooman, he attended school in Sandy Creek and served in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He had resided in Mexico since 1946. He married Charlotte F. Allen on April 21, 1947, at Pulaski Methodist Church. Mr. Vrooman was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 369. Surviving besides his wife are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger and Rebecca, and David, all of Mexico, and the Rev. Roy and Tammy, Manchester, New Hampshire; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Wayne Johnson, Pulaski; a sister, Bessie Weber, Mexico; a brother, Robert, Zephyrhills, Florida., 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Linda Ackley, died in December 2002. Three brothers, Volney, Floyd and Kenneth, and five sisters, Pearl Brownlee, Gladys Sidmore, Charlotte Johnson, Florence Iliscock and Myrtle M. Lindsey, also died before him The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Foster-Flax Funeral Home, 52 Park St., Pulaski, with his son, the Rev. Mr. Vrooman, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
