Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, April 10, 1951 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Military Honors For Dead Soldier ¬Body Of Pfc. E. D. Vrooman To Arrive Wednesday - Pulaski - The body of Pfc. Edwin D. Vrooman, 21, will arrive with a military escort Wednesday from Fort Knox, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Weber, Route 11, south of Pulaski, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with burial in Willis cemetery. Military honors will be paid by a detail from Robert Edwards Post No. 358, American Legion. Pfc. Vrooman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vrooman, was born in St. Lawrence County but had lived in the vicinity of Pulaski most of his life. He had entered service in September 1950, and received his basic training at Fort Knox, continuing there in a tank outfit. He was fatally wounded by an accidental shot fired by a friend on Friday last.
