- OSCAR CARL BARKER SR. DIES AT 68 IN FULTON

Oscar Carl Barker Sr., 68, of R.D. 4, died Friday at University Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m at the Watson Funeral Home, 206 South Main St., Central Square. Burial will be in Roosevelt Cemetery, Pennellville, in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions may be made to the Association for Retarded Children, 7 Morrill's Place, Fulton.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, the former Edna Loomis; five sons, Oscar C. Jr., Elizabethtown, Ky., Jack R., Michael D., and David B., all of Fulton, and George T., Adams Center; two daughters, Amie J. Pickard and Sue Jacobson, both of Fulton; a brother Paul E., Pulaski; three sisters, Irene Cean, Watertown, Frances Nellis, Brookfield, Fla., and Dorothy Leach, Lodi, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Orwell on Jan. 27, 1920, Mr. Barker was the son of Charles H. and Anne Hilton Barker. He lived in Sackets Harbor before moving to Fulton 32 years ago.
Mr. Barker retired in 1981 after working for 35 years as a carpenter for Carpenters Local 12. He was a World War II Army veteran and a charter member of the Pennellville Volunteer Fire Department.
