Erwin J. "Jiggs" Clemens, 76, Commins Road, died Monday at Oswego Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sanborn-McDaniels & LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Camden. Burial will be in Redfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Alice M.; four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Sharon) LeBeau, Central Square, Mrs. Ray (Leona) Chereshnoski, Lorraine, Mrs. James (Diana) Carpenter, Constableville, and Mrs. Neil (Alice) Briggs, Camden; a son, John E., Saginaw, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Lois) Gage, Camden, and Mrs. Clifton (Genevieve) Porter, Englewood, Fla., and two brothers, Harold, Osceola, and George, Alabama.
Born July 24, 1915, in Redfield, son of John and Esther Rowell Clemens, he served with the Army during World War II. He was employed nearly 30 years by the Camden Wire Co. as a truck driver, retiring in 1981.
He married Alice M. Colvin Feb. 12, 1941, in Cumberland, Md.
Mr. Clemens was a member of the Osceola Snowmobile Club and the New York State Olde Tyme Fiddlers Association (Central Association).
