Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 1, 1898 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - "Suffer Little Children to Come Unto Me." The funeral of Paul Wightman, the eighteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Wightman, Park street, whose death occurred on Wednesday morning last, after a lingering illness of diabetes, was attended from the house at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. E. A. Anson, Rector of St. James's Episcopal church, officiating. The bearers were Masters John Box, Willie Corcoran, Robert Davis and Edward Waldick. The floral tributes were numerous, among them being a basket of flowers and a collection of pink and white roses, contributed by Pulaski Lodge No. 648, I. O. O. F., of which organization Mr. Wightman is a valued member. The remains were interred in the Pulaski cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved parents in their deep sorrow. Our home is cheerless and sad, A loved one has been called away; For his brief presence we are glad, God does things in his own best way. Our dear Paul as an angel of light, In the presence of the Heavenly throne. In the land beyond all night, Where pain and sickness are unknown. We shall miss you, dear little one, Our tears for you to fast fall; but we know God's will has been done, For he doeth best for us all.
