- George Durgee, 74 died Sunday at his home in Ricard after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Durgee was a life long resident of that place.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Malcom Beach, of Syracuse, two sons, Charles of Orwell, and Clayton. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist Episcopal church at Ricard at 2 p.m.

On Sunday morning, February 5th, 1928, the community was greatly saddened by the death of George Durgee, aged 74 years, a life long resident of this place.
On January 17th, he suffered a paralytic stroke, which confined him to his bed and he steadily grew worse until the end.
He was a kind loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in his home, also in the community in which he lived.
He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, two sons, Charles of Orwell, Clayton of Patterson, N.J., and a daughter, Mrs. Malcom Beach of Syracuse, besides six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His funeral was held in the M. E. church at Ricard, Wednesday, Feb. 8th at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. A. F. Knapp officiating. Interment was made in Fair View Cemetery, Williamstown, N.Y.
