HOWARD S. LAWRENCE

Howard S. Lawrence, 91, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Sept. 14. Born in Watertown, he lived in Syracuse 30 years before moving away in 1972. He graduated from Pulaski Academy and attended Syracuse University. He was a machinist at Carrier Corp. for 30 years until his retirement in 1972. He also worked for the Pulaski Democrat newspaper. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church, the Eastwood Baptist Church and the Windbaggers Ham Radio Club. His wife of 66 years, the former Helen McChesney, died Oct. 29.
Survivors: Four daughters, Barbara Chester of Hendersonville, Patricia Myrto of Horse Shoe, N.C., Margaret Miller of Warners and Linda Yonteff of Winchester, Va.; a sister, Bella Turgeon of Florida; 11 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday for Howard and Helen Lawrence at Eastwood Baptist Church, 3212 James St., Syracuse. Burial, 3 p.m. Saturday, Pulaski Cemetery. Jackson Funeral Service and Crematory, Hendersonville, has arrangements.
