- CLARENCE W. HOLLIS DIES AT AGE OF 77

Clarence W. Hollis, 77, of Parkview Manor, former resident of Pulaski, died Wednesday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St., Pulaski, with the Rev. James Tschudy officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette M.; six sons, David, Fulton, Donald, Plattsburgh, Robert, Birdsboro, Pa., James, Central Square, and Keith and Nathan, both of Pulaski; four daughters, Carol Maloney, Kirkville, Cindy Pettit, Central Square, and Karen Dashnaw and Claudia Clark, both of Pulaski; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marion and Beverly Soule, both of Hernando, Fla.
He was born on July 17, 1914, a son of Frank and Ruth Wardwell Hollis, and graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1932.
He married Jeanette Bonnie on Oct. 14, 1940.
Mr. Hollis retired in 1984 after 30 years as owner and operator of Hollis Lawn and Garden in Pulaski, and was previously owner of a Buick automobile dealership in Pulaski. He moved to Mexico in 1989 after living in Florida for five years. He was also employed as a foreman for several years on the Iroquois Dam Project on the St. Lawrence Seaway.
He was a communicant of Pulaski Congregational Church and a former member of the Ringgold Fire Department in Pulaski.
