MEXICO April 15 The death of Edward ? Parker, prominent citizen and oldest active business man of the village, occurred at his home in Pulaski street Saturday afternoon. He had been ill several weeks. Mr Parker was 80 years old next Jan. 12, born in Ashland, Greene county, son of the late Sylvams and Julia White Parker. Early in his life his family moved to Willlamstown and later to Pulaski. In 1879 he came to Mexico to live He had followed the trade of tinsmith and plumber, having been in the employ of ths B. S. Stone Co. hardware for more than 30 years. Mr Parker was a member of the original Mexico Helicon band he became its leader, serving in that capacity about 20 years He was also a member of Mexico Volunteer fire department for 15 years, and a charter member of New Haven lodge, I.0.O.F. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frederica Shutts Parker, a son, Earl C. Parker, who has been associated with him in business; a brother, Fred Parker of Syracuse, and a sister, Miss Minnie B. Parker, also of Syracuse. Burial in Mexico Village Cemetery
