    • Elmer attended school in Dexter, NY. HE was associated in the grocery business for 54 years, beginning in 1904 when he began work for Edward Eveleigh as a child. He later bought the Eveleigh business in 1944, selling it in 1958 to his daughter and son-in-law Franklin & Orpha Allen. Elmer was a life member of the Dexter Odd Fellows Lodge.
