- Newspaper Obituary - April 3, 1935 Pulaski Democrat - Mrs. Fred C. Orton Dies After Long Illness - Funeral Tomorrow - Mrs. Adelaide Peacor Orton, wife of Fred C. Orton, died at the family home on North street early Tuesday morning following a long period of ill health. She had been a resident of this village for many years and was active in church, fraternal and social circles as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Orton was born in Providence, R. I., June 25, 1871, and spent her early years there. On March 22, 1890 she married Mr. Orton in Oswego, and since then most of her life has been spent here. She was active in the Methodist Episcopal church and its societies, a member of the Women's Civic club, Pulaski chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and Robert Edwards Auxiliary, and she was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Suriving are the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Edward Orton, Jr., of Columbus, Ohio; one son, Avery C. Orton; two grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth and Barbara Jane of Watertown; two brothers, Frank I. Peacor of Watertown and George A. Peacor of Providence, R. I.; and two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Burcklee of this village, and Miss Mina A. Peacor of Providence. The funeral will be held from the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Henry Bridge, pastor of the M. E. church, officiating. Burial in Pulaski cemetery.
