Obituary Condolences
Martineau November 10, 2005 H. Robert "Zeke" Martineau died Friday, November 10, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Zeke was born November 17, 1931 in Syracuse, NY to Harold A. and Gertrude W. Martineau and graduated from Most Holy Rosary High School in 1949. He attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY, then served four years in the U.S. Navy before returning his hometown to attend Syracuse University. He graduated in 1959 with a bachelor of science in business administration. His professional career started at the Herald-Journal newspaper in advertising sales; he then moved to Mobil Oil as a commercial salesman. He left upstate New York in 1966 to take a position at Mobil's corporate headquarters in New York City. Zeke later moved to Greensboro, NC and started his own business in 1980. He retired in 2000, spending much of his time traveling; volunteering at his church, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where he was involved with the Knights of Columbus and his Small Church Community; working in his yard and enjoying his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith Lambert Martineau; his two daughters, Suzanne M. Rook and her husband, Tony, of Wake Forest and Kathryn M. Adams and her husband, Clay, of Astoria, N.Y.; five sons, Andrew and his wife, Kathy, of Plano, Texas; Daniel and his wife, Elaine; William and his wife, Stacy; James and his wife, Jennifer; Matthew, and his wife, Kristian, all of Greensboro; 17 grandchildren, Bob, Andy and Meghan Rook, all of Wake Forest; Drew, Patrick, Jacob and Tim Martineau, all of Plano, Texas; Joseph, Michael, Sean, Paul, Sophie, Sarah, Christopher, Grace, Eric and Elise Martineau, all of Greensboro; and numerous other beloved relatives and friends.
