Guy A. Eldred, 81, of RD 1 Altmar, died Friday at Oswego Hospital.
He was born in Bakersfield, Vt.
His wife, Levina Benjamin, died in 1989.
Mr. Eldred was employed by the Oswego County Highway Department and also the town of Albion Highway Department. He retired in 1971 after 29 years of service.
He was a life member of the New York State Trappers Association. He also was a member of the Mad River Hunting Club and the Orwell Odd Fellows.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary L. Barber of Altmar; two sons, James A. and Ronald G. Eldred, both of Altmar; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the Foster Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar.
Contributions may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Pulaski, or the Altmar Defiance Fire Department.
