- Rites Saturday for
Maurice Burcklee
Maurice Burcklee, 63, died Wednesday afternoon at Marcy State Hospital where he had been a patient but two weeks.
Funeral services will be held at the Foster Funeral Home Saturday at 3 o'clock with the Rev. M. Howard St. Cyr, pastor of St. James Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
He was born July 11, 1893, in Patterson, N.J., the son of Maurice and Anna Week Burcklee. In 1932 he married Lessie Peacor in Suffern, N.Y., and in 1933 they came to Pulaski where he established the Pulaski Diner on S. Salina St. which he operated until just a few years ago.
He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Pulaski Lodge, 415 F. & A.M., a member of Robert Edwards Post, and also Salmon River Barracks, Veterans of World War I.
Surviving besides Mrs. Burcklee are two sisters, Mrs. James Sarle and Mrs. Fred Vastano of Patterson, N.J., and two brothers, Alfred of Patterson and Joseph of Jersey City, N.J.
