Notes - Ronald L. Dorchester, 73, of Nedrow, passed away Monday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Marcellus. A 1954 graduate of Marcellus High School where he was a three athlete student competing in football, basketball and baseball. Ron was an appliance serviceman specializing in refrigeration, starting out working for his father's appliance store, Cliff Dorchester Appliances in Marcellus, then working for several companies in Onondaga County, and then finally working for AirCon in Syracuse. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Ron was predeceased by his wife of 24 years, Judith in 2007. Ron is survived by his brother, Robert (Sondra) Dorchester of Marcellus; sister, Karen Kearns of Florida; cousins, Jean Hill of Elbridge, Coralie Cavanaugh of PA, Lason Dorchester of Florida, Tom and Charles Hufnagel of IL; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Ron will be 10 a.m. Friday September 18, 20009 in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
