Newspaper Obituary - Monday, December 2, 1991 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Herbert C. Webb Dies In Syracuse At 87 - Herbert C. Webb, 87, of Springbrook Apartments, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster-FIax Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Gideons International. Surviving are his wife, Greta B.; four sons, Herbert Jay, Fayetteville, John W., Saratoga, William Allen, Canton, and Richard James, Cicero; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Lewis, Fernwood; and a sister, Inabelle Webb, Wallingford, Vermont. Born in Richland, he lived in the Pulaski and Fernwood areas most of his life. He graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1921 and later attended Syracuse and Cornell universities. In 1969, he retired as postmaster of the Fernwood Post Office, where he had worked for 40 years. Mr. Webb had also served as a clerk for the Pulaski Central School Board. He was a member of Gideons International, Fernwood Baptist Church, and the Bible Baptist Church in Oswego.
