- Pulaski Democrat, 11 Nov 1954: A.C. McCHESNEY DIES IN RICARD Services for Alva C. McChesney, 76, who died at his home in Ricard late Friday afternoon following an illness of two years, were conducted Monday at the home... by the Rev. Adelbert Edwards of Boylston. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Gay McChesney; two sons, Donald of Orwell and Leonard McChesney, at home; a brother, Newton McChesney of Lakeland FL, and a sister, Mrs. William (Lillian) Thompson of Ilion; and two grandchildren. Mr. McChesney was born in the Town of Scriba Sept. 4, 1878, the son of Frank and Etta Clauson McChesney. He came to Pulaski when a young lad and attended the Pulaski Academy. In 1904 he organized the Salmon River Table Co., which he later sold to E.J. Seiter. He continued to work at the Table company for a while, moving to Ricard in 1927. He also worked for the Lattimer chair factory after moving to Ricard. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church.
