      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 16, 1980 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Nelson J. Peters, 74, of 7420 Salina Street, died Tuesday morning at his home. Born in Femwood, he was the son of Eli and Lydia Wheaton Peters. He attended Femwood schools. He married Nina Hilton, who died in 1961, and later married Margaret P. Sprague. Peters was a door-to-door salesman, and in 1940 opened a second-hand store in Femwood. In 1954 he moved the business to Pulaski, when he purchased the former Pulaski Academy and Central School. He operated that as a General Electric Appliance Store until he retired in 1971, selling the business to his son, Carl. Since his retirement, he had continued to work part-time at the store. He was a member of Femwood United Methodist Church and South Richland Grange. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; a son, Carl N. of Pulaski; two brothers, Clarence A. of Pulaski and Earl of Fulton; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Austin and Pastor Norman Clark officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Femwood United Methodist Church or Northern Oswego County Ambulance Corps.
