      FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR JAMES F. LYNCH, 79

      Watertown Daily Times (NY) - January 21, 1992

      The funeral for James F. Lynch, 79, of 4021 Harborview Road, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Liam O’Doherty, pastor of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Sackets Harbor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, town of Henderson, in the spring.

      Mr. Lynch died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday at Broward General Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he had been a patient one day.

      Calling hours are 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Henderson Rescue Squad.

      Surviving are a son, James B., Adams; a daughter, Helen Goodrich, Johnson City; three stepsons, Bernard and John Doran, both of Long Island, and Ronald Doran, Fort Lauderdale; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evestyne David, Syracuse, Marie Littlefield, Belleville, and Arean Staplin, Mexico; and a half-brother, Robert French, Mexico.

      He was born Oct. 16, 1912, in Oswego County. He graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1930, and served in the Navy during World War II.

      Mr. Lynch was employed on various construction projects in Central New York through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 910, Watertown.

      He married Virginia J. Doran on Aug. 31, 1964, in Elkton, Md. A previous marriage ended in divorce.

      Mr. Lynch and his wife, Virginia, had lived on Harborview Road since their marriage. Mrs. Lynch was employed at the Henderson Harbor post office for 12 years. She died Jan. 27, 1982, at the age of 67.

      Mr. Lynch spent winters in Florida for several years.

      He was a member of Knights of Columbus Harbor Council 7522, Rising Light Masonic Lodge 637, Belleville, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 910, Watertown. He was also a member of American Legion Post 1757, Sackets Harbor, and a life member of the South Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Adams.
