Nellie R. "Mag" Pearson, 86, of 52 Hong Kong Road, Parish, formerly of Pulaski, died Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.
Mrs. Pearson worked for 20 years in the accounting department at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, retiring in 1981.
Born March 12, 1916, in Pulaski, daughter of William H. and Addie L. Hubbard Rood, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1934. She had lived in Pulaski and Nedrow and later in Parish for 38 years.
She married Rick Pearson on March 27, 1965.
Mrs. Pearson was a soloist at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Syracuse, and had performed in operettas with the Syracuse Berwald Concert Singers. She was also an organist at Dugway Methodist Church and was an avid flower gardener.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, "Lil" Blue Pearson, Parish, and three sisters, Orla R. Skinner, Pulaski, Laura James, Syracuse, and Anna Mae Reed, Tully.
Three brothers, Holland, William and Charles Rood, and a sister, Elnora Rood, died before her.
The funeral will be at Dugway Methodist Church at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Dugway.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home.
