Fred B. Hutchins, 77, County Route 22, died Monday at Oswego Hospital.
Mr. Hutchins retired in 1987 after 25 years with Blount Lumber Co., Lacona.
He was a member of Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289 and Russell Tyron Post 1435, American Legion, Altmar, and was a 61-year member of Orwell Volunteer Fire Department.
Born June 5, 1922, at Orwell, the son of Joseph G. and Cecile A. Blodgett Hutchins, he graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1941 and served in the Navy from 1941 to 1962.
Surviving are three sisters, Julia A. Howard, Orwell, and Lillie M. Franklin and Robin D. Woolson, both of Pulaski.
Two sisters died before him, Norma J. Hutchins in 1990 and Freda E. Kaul in 1994.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Dorothy Emblidge officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
