- Watertown Daily Times 14 December 2001 GUY SEAMANS SELF-EMPLOYED MEAT CUTTER Guy Seamans, 80, River Road, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at his home. He had been in ill health since August. Born June 25, 1921, in Altmar, son of Donald and Leah Matison Seamans, he attended country schools in the Burdick district and Altmar High School. He served in the Merchant Marine from 1940 to 1942. Mr. Seamans was a farmer in Altmar from 1944 to 1964. He then moved to the Copenhagen area, where he operated a custom meat- cutting business at his home. A marriage to Genevieve Kazyaka ended in divorce. He married Jeanne Spencer Muir on Jan. 18, 1964, in Mannsville Methodist Church. Mr. Seamans was a member of American Legion Post 162, Lowville, and the North Country Horse Club. He enjoyed training horses and various outdoor activities. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Herbert C., Copenhagen; three daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia) Forbes, Moorehead City, N.C., and Mrs. Gary (Roberta) Aubin and Pamela Narrigan, both of Copenhagen; a stepson, Thomas Muir, Jackson, Miss.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Bruce (Gloria) Piatt, Adams, Mrs. Bernard (Elizabeth) Kloster, Croghan, and Mrs. Leonard (Bonnie) Schryver Jr., Ellisburg; a brother, Donald A., Pulaski; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Two sons, Raymond J. and George A.. a stepson, Kenneth Muir, and a brother, Robert G., died before him. There will be no funeral or calling hours. Arrangements are with Scherer Funeral Home, Carthage. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar, at the family's convenience. Donations may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, 7552 N.
