      Thomas E. Manwarren, 72, of 31 Erie St., died Wednesday at his home after an illness of several months.

      Mr. Manwarren worked for General Electric Co. for 33 years as an electrical engineer and consulting engineer in the heavy military electronics division. He was involved in research and development of advanced techniques in radar antennas for the U.S. government.

      He was a member of the Elfun Society of General Electric. After retiring in 1986, he had his own engineering consulting business.

      During the 1960s, he served on the Pulaski school board. He was a member of Elms Golf Club and won the club championship in 1968. He recently took up watercolor painting and was a member of Salmon River Fine Arts Center.

      Born April 25, 1925, in Syracuse, son of Ward and Bertha Tittensor Manwarren, he attended Syracuse schools and graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in January 1943.

      A veteran of World War II, he was a radar operator aboard ships in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

      He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University in 1952 and a master's degree in 1954. He was a member of Theta Tau and Sigma Xi and an honorary member of the Electrical Engineering Society.

      He married Jean Patricia Ellis on June 16, 1951.

      Surviving besides his wife are a son, Ward J., Adams Center; two daughters, Marjorie A. Minotti, North Tonawanda, and Joan C. Manwaring, Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Muriel Halsey, Pulaski; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

      Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home.
