Donald M. Friot Jr., 55, of 4794 Salina St., died of complications of heart disease Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.
Born Nov. 24, 1943, in Ogdensburg, a son of Donald and Pauline LeFleur Friot, he attended Ogdensburg and East Syracuse-Minoa schools. He married Alice M. Quinn on May 18, 1963.
Mr. Friot retired as a machine operator in 1998 following 19 years of service at Carrier Corp., Syracuse.
He lived in Central Square before moving to Pulaski in 1977.
A Navy veteran, he was a member of Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358.
Surviving besides his wife and father and stepmother, Donald and Barbara Friot, now of Silver Springs, Fla., are two daughters, Mary E. Friot, Pulaski, and Brenda Storto, Central Square; four sons, Donald M. III, Michael J. and David M., all of Pulaski, and Scott A. Rude, Henderson; a sister, Shirley E. Barnes, Mexico; two brothers, Robert, Jacksonville, Fla., and Wayne E., Boylston; and 11 grandchildren.
A brother, Martin G. Friot, died Aug. 5, 1997.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
