Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, August 31, 1973 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Mrs. Laura Hotchkiss Expires - Pulaski - Mrs. Laura F. (Mae) Hotchkiss, 77, Spring Brook Apartments, died at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, after a short illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Hotchkiss was born in Daysville on November 30, 1895, the daughter of Grant and Anna Doane Calkins. She attended Daysville School and Town of Rutland schools. She was married on March 15, 1917 to Ralph E. Hotchkiss in Pulaski. The couple owned and operated a gas station and garage in Port Ontario for over 40 years. Mr. Hotchkiss died on April 12, 1962. In June of 1962, Mrs. Hotchkiss moved to Pulaski. She was a member of the Pulaski Congregational Church and the Pulaski Rebecca Lodge.
