- REVA B. NELLIS, EX-WAITRESS, FARMER, DIES

Reva B. Nellis, 87, formerly of 8306 Salisbury St., died Monday at the Samaritan-Keep Nursing Home, Watertown, where she had been a resident since 1992.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Lorraine Zimmerman, pastor of Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Lacona Fire Department or Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Box 113, Pulaski N.Y. 13145.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joyce) Barber, Sandy Creek, and Mrs. John (Reta) Blackmer, Lacona; two sons, Joseph, Lacona, and David, Fulton; two brothers, Rex Teachout, Pulaski, and Arnold Teachout, Zephyrhills, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Harold, died previously.
She was born in Redfield on Jan 17, 1909, a daughter of James and Agnes Balcom Teachout. She graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School.
She married Sumner C. Nellis April 24, 1929, at her parents’ Pulaski home with the Rev. T.T. Davies officiating. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Pulaski from 1929 to 1938.
In 1938 they moved to a dairy farm on the Nellis Road which they operated until retiring in 1971. After their retirement their son Joseph took over the farm and the couple moved into their Salisbury Street home in the village. Mr. Nellis died in 1992.
Mrs. Nellis was a former waitress at the Lighthouse Hotel, Selkirk.
