      LEVINA B. GREENE, 72, EX-GE EMPLOYE, DIES

      Watertown Daily Times (NY) - September 18, 1989

      Levina B. Greene, 72, Hammondsport, former resident of the Altmar area, died Saturday evening in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayer, Pa.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander.

      Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

      Surviving are two sons, James A. and Ronald G. Eldred, both of Altmar; a daughter, Mary E. Barber, Altmar; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson, and a brother, Richard Benjamin, Oswego.

      Born in Brownville on Feb. 12, 1917, a daughter of Roy and Mabel Fitzgerald Benjamin, she was graduated from Pulaski Academy and High School in 1934.

      A marriage to Guy A. Eldred ended in divorce. She married Wade Greene in 1966. Mr. Greene died in 1977.

      Mrs. Greene was a resident of the Altmar area from 1935 to 1963. She moved to Phoenix in 1963 and to Hammondsport in 1977. She was employed by the General Electric Corp., Syracuse, for 30 years.

      She was a member of the General Electric Electronettes women’s organization.
