      Newspaper Obituary - February 24, 2006 Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - February 18, 2006 - Bonnie E. Sykes, age 58, of Stearns Road, Town of Floyd, passed away February 18, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born February 22, 1947, in Camden, a daughter of Lewis and Betty Turner Dawley, and graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1966. Bonnie was united in marriage to Phillip L. Sykes, on January 7, 1967, in Pulaski. She was employed by the Town of Floyd Water Department. Bonnie was well loved and respected by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Phillip; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberlee and Obie Burger of Floyd, and Michelle and Steve Kotary of Floyd; her parents, Lewis and Betty Dawley of Pulaski; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Linda Dawley of Pulaski; and three grandchildren, Kristofer Burger, Katelyn Burger and Shelby Kotary. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Cremation will be in Waterville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Rome Humane Society.
