CHARLES A. INGERSOLL RETIRED FARMER

Charles A. Ingersoll, 99, Rochester, formerly of Pulaski and Watertown, died July 10 at the home of his daughter, Mary Fiorito, Rochester.
He was a mechanic in Schenectady, then co-owned a Mobil gas station on the corner at the Court Street Bridge and Main Street, Watertown, and later operated a farm on the Parrish Road. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Lehigh Acres, Fla.
Born Jan. 12, 1901, in Pulaski, son of Percy and Mary Kelsey Ingersoll, he graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1921.
He married Dorothy Bellinger on Aug. 18, 1923, at her home in Watertown, with the Rev. Harold Strathern, pastor of Rochester Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Ingersoll died April 18, 1981.
He was a past member of the Pamelia Volunteer Fire Department and a former Pamelia town justice.
Surviving besides his daughter are a granddaughter, Kim Fiorito, Rochester; a grandson, Gregory Fiorito, Minnesota, and nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Eva Brown, Ethel Orton and Martha Gardner, died before him.
The funeral was July 13 at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton. Burial was in Pulaski Cemetery.
