GRACE B. MILLARD

Grace B. Millard, 81, formerly of Blue Street, died Monday evening at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility, where she had resided since March 26, 2001.
Mrs. Millard worked for Bell Telephone in Pulaski for several years and was transferred to Lowville as chief telephone operator for the General Telephone Co.
Born Sept. 24, 1924, in Pulaski, daughter of Henry F. and Elsie M. Miller Billhardt, she graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1942.
She married Kenneth J. Millard on June 24, 1953, at Turin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ervin W. Williams officiating. Mr. Millard died March 4, 1992.
She was a former library volunteer at Glenfield Elementary School and was a room mother when her children were in school.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Lisa and James Kiernan, Brantingham, and Shari and Rick McNeil, Glenfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William H. and Joyce M. Billhardt, Greig, and Thomas G. Billhardt, and his companion, Patricia, last name unknown, Lacona; a sister, Sandra A. Billhardt, Lowville, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Iseneker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
