      Newspaper Article - Wednesday, November 3, 1926 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Elisha Burr's Life Story - By his brother, Aaron N. Burr - Elisha Burr Jr.was born in Ellisville, town of Ellisburg, Jefferson county New York, January 15, 1841. In the spring of 1842 the family moved to the eastern part of the town of Sandy Creek right into the woods, got some help and built a log house, moved in before it was finished. Being 3 or 4 years old I remember they built a large fire place and chimney of logs and stone. Lived there one year then moved into the town of Ellisburg where Adelbert H Burr was born January 5, 1844, then moved back to the log house, cleared up some of the land. In 1857 moved to the town of Richland, Oswego county, New York. Settled on a dairy farm some four miles south of Pulaski. August 1862 three Burr brothers enlisted in the 14th. New York Volunteers for 3 years during the war. Joseph W. Burr was killed at the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Aaron N. Burr was wounded in the hand at the battle of Spotsylvania, Virginia, was sent to the hospital in Washington, D. C, was appointed corporal of the guard and was kept there till his time was out, May 12, 1865. Saw Mr. Lincoln several times, went through the White House and shook hands with him, saw the funeral procession pass up Pennsylvania Avenue, went through the capitol and saw his remains as they lay in state there. Ehsha Burr Jr., died in Pulaski, October 13, 1926. Adelbert H. Burr died in Pulaski, May 11, 1926.
