Wallace G. Ward, 67, Blue Spruce Trailer Park, Central Square, formerly of Pulaski, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
Mr. Ward was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier from 1978 until his retirement in 1994.
Born March 24, 1932, in Colosse, son of Glenn and Anna Chase Ward, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1950 and attended Cornell University, Ithaca.
He married Charlene Golding on July 11, 1954.
Mr. Ward served in the Coast Guard from 1951 to 1955.
He lived in Pulaski for 15 years, moving to Mexico in 1989 and to Central Square in 1997.
He was employed by Agway Farm Stores from 1956 to 1978 before becoming a rural mail carrier.
A member of Pulaski Baptist Church, he was also a member of Pulaski Masonic Lodge 415, Free and Accepted Masons, a past commander and former member of Hillcrest Post 1194, American Legion, a member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion, and La Societe de 40 & 8, and a life member of Pulaski Veterans of Foreign War Post 7289.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Scott W., College Station, Texas, and Kevin C., Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Sheryl L. Ward, Brewerton; a brother, Marvin, Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Martha Chatterton, Mannsville, Anna Marie Lindsey, Pulaski, and Gladys Johnson, Frankfurt, and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Brett Charnsky, pastor of Pulaski Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
